At Hoang Long, we are mindful of our role in conserving the surrounding environment, applying advanced technology in the operation of our systems so as to make a minimal impact. We always proactively research and adopt sustainable and environmentally responsible mining methods, such as digitalisation to improve productivity, minimize waste and ensure safe mining practices.

Applying technology to improve sustainable mining.

In our mining and titanium processing operations, electricity and water play a significant role. Recognizing the environmental impact, we are actively engaged in research to harness solar power as a means to reduce CO2 emissions. This initiative will be implemented in the second quarter of 2023. Additionally, we have adopted an annual waste reduction plan to utilize circulating water and cut waste at our facility. The water used in our production process undergoes meticulous treatment before being reused for the automatic sprinkler system, nurturing the trees within our factory premises.

Reduce the impact on the environment.

Our mantra at Hoang Long is that the environmental conditions following our mining activities should be “equal or better” than they originally were. Most of our efforts in this regard lie in reforestation. Each year, we reclaim 25 hectares of land for forests, planting and nurturing more than 80,000 trees in cooperation with the people who live in the region. Through this work, we intend to turn crops into a new source of income for the local community. We are committed to this work in the long term to create more economic value for Quang Binh province.

Environmental problems can only be fully resolved by consensus with the support of the government and through the cooperation of local people. During our years of operation, Hoang Long has always been fortunate in building close relationships with the community so that environmental problems can be systematically solved together. Thanks to this partnership, both the mining industry and the community can thrive together in the same space.

Quang Binh is frequently beset by harsh weather and natural disasters. This is becoming of increasing concern in the context of climate change. Joining hands with those who fight the floods and storms every year, we work within the locality to build flood-resistant houses for the community. In addition, we aim to plant coastal protection forests and contribute financially to planting watershed protection forests in joint response to climate change while promoting growth.

Responsibility for social interests in the mining process is an important obligation of the company.

As a mining company in this region, we know we have a responsibility to repay the homeland by creating work opportunities for local people and contributing to the socioeconomic development of the province. In the long term, we aim to attract more investment in small industrial zones to generate more jobs.
